Love Note - 07/18/2018


Hey guys!

I’m back to the grind here, catching up on everything I missed last week. I’ve been trying to think of a funny story to share all day, but nothing is coming to me! Then I realized why … my kids have been at camp all day. Clearly, they’re the reason for my insanity AND humor. 

My brain might be a little cluttered today too from finishing my edits for Man Buns. I’m not sure I’m ever going to stop thinking of bun puns. It’s to the point where I’m saying it to people I’m talking to in the non-book world, and I’m getting looks. In reality, who doesn’t want to hear a good bun pun. I mean…life is more fun with jokes, but I think I’m taking it too far. 

Now that I’m coming to the end of this book, I’m going to have to switch gears into a more serious mood to write my next one. So, I’ll have to let all my humor spill out in my emails while I focus on keeping a straight face while writing everything else . 

Do you guys have a hard time getting up in the morning? I don’t know if you’re morning people or not. Some days, I am, and others, I feel like I haven’t slept in a week. It’s weird since I try to get the same hours of sleep each night. I’ve found a trick that kind of works in the mornings I want to whine and cry until someone pushes me out of bed, so I figured I’d share it . 

I jump into my tub and take my phone. If you don’t have a bathtub, just put your phone in a ziplock bag and step into the shower (I’m not responsible for damage LOL). Then, revert your attention to Instagram videos or FB videos. I swear, I see the funniest clips first thing in the morning, and my cranky mood twists around so quickly after. I skip out of the bathroom with a smile on my face, and my husband turns over and pulls the pillow over his head, then tells me it’s too early for jokes. He’s missing out. I tell him that too, but … sleep. I do think it helps because supposedly if you start your day on the right path (you know opposite of the wrong side of the bed), your day is supposed to follow in suit. I can’t say I haven’t had a bad day after doing this, but for the most part, I feel pretty upbeat until I get hangry at noon . There’s my helpful advice for the day!
