Research & History

I research each novel through survivor testimonies, historical archives, museums, letters and diaries, and conversations with families whose loved ones lived through the war. My goal is to honor the real people behind the history while telling a story that stays with you.

What order should I read Shari J. Ryan's books in?
Most of my WWII historical fiction novels are standalones, so you can read them in any order. The exceptions are my series: the Last Words Series, the Heart Series, and the Barrel House Series, which are best read in order. You'll find the full list on my Books in Order page (https://sharijryan.com/BooksInOrder).
