STRONGER TOGETHER
When united and lifting each other up.
I’ve spent six months writing and researching people and society in the 1940s for Last One Home. My brain is exploding with an overload of information.
The most intriguing part I came across was regarding female empowerment. While women were fighting to have their voices heard, they were also uniting and supporting each other in a time when working together was the only solution. It sounds simple, but lately life has proven otherwise.
I’ve spent my life trying to prove my strength in unnecessary ways because I have the desire to be capable of everything, even at 5’0 tall (when I can’t reach the top kitchen cabinets 😂). I’ve gotten bumps and bruises to prove my worth, and gained the pride I’ve needed to comfort the soul of who I am. I’ve learned that strength comes in different forms, and I’ve found that my biggest strength is being there for someone who has fallen and needs help getting back up. It’s easy to be a friend.
I listen rather than talk, and give rather than take.
It's not because I’m trying to be a perfect person. Because I’m far from it. I’m simply trying to find others who are like me so we can build an empire of empowerment—one no one can take down.
Nothing comes easily in life.
Luck can run dry.
But hard work pays off, and being authentic is a game changer.
If we were capable back then, we are capable now. #ilearnedalot #authorlife #strongertogether💪
